Denver to Host Third Orthodox Young Professionals Conference

Denver, May 18, 2018: The Young Adult Ministry of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America invites all young adults to register and attend the 2018 Orthodox Young Professionals Conference (OYPC) from August 16-19, 2018 in Denver, Colorado.

The OYPC will benefit hundreds of young adults as they gather together for four days and three nights of powerful discussions from dynamic speakers, spiritual edification including divine services, and fun social events. They will leave as new friends with strong networks to face the pressures of being an Orthodox Christian in today's world.

The weekend's three amazing speakers, Fr. Milad Selim, Protodeacon Peter Danilchick and Ms. Katrina Bitar, will offer their unique expertise and guidance to the attendees. Each afternoon and evening, the young professionals will connect with each other as they explore exciting venues in Denver.

Although the average age of our young professionals is early to middle 30s, adults ages 21 and older are welcome. The term "young professional" is referenced as an age beyond college, rather than what kind of profession someone might have. Participants in the previous OYPCs have joined us from all over the U.S. and Canada, and from various Orthodox Christian jurisdictions. Donations are also welcome to host the speakers and cover general expenses.

One attendee of the 2016 OYPC in New Orleans, Louisiana said in her post-conference survey: "I met so many wonderful people (from all over the USA/Canada) at this year's conference and made friendships that I feel will last a lifetime. It was a beautiful thing to experience the solidarity of a room full of people, who despite coming from all walks of life are experiencing similar struggles and joys in their young adult/professional lives." Another participant said: "The OYPC provides a unique opportunity to completely focus on your faith for a few days with other Orthodox Christians that share the same underlying bond."

About OYPC

Starting in 2014, the Orthodox Young Professionals Conference (OYPC) has been the leading conference for Orthodox Christian young adults coming from all jurisdictions. It occurs biennially in the "off-year" of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese Convention (i.e., even-numbered years). Hosted by the Young Adult Ministry of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese, the four-day, three-night conference is run entirely by young adult volunteers.
