The Fellowship of St. John the Divine is a group of leaders who, representing different dioceses, come together at one table to develop and administer programs, projects, and activities that are intended to help each local parish find ways to fulfill its true calling in Christ.

Some of the activities the Fellowship supports or has itself developed include: mission trips, pan-Orthodox fellowship events at conferences, the production and dissemination of education materials about Church unity, the St. Philip’s Prayer Discipline program, young adult retreats, the Food for Hungry People program, the Creative Festivals, and the Oratorical and Bible Bowl Festivals. The Fellowship communicates opportunities for involvement through periodic bulletin inserts.

Orthodox Young Professionals Conference: Interview with Co-Chair Kyra Pelachik

The second Orthodox Young Professionals Conference is coming up on August 18-21, 2016 in New Orleans, Louisiana. After its great success in San Diego in 2014, the conference, designed especially for career-bound and professional young adults, is expecting even more attendees this summer. Hosted by the newly founded Archdiocese Young Adult Ministry, the conference will offer participants the opportunity to network with other Orthodox Christians from across the country. Antiochian.org asked Co-Chair Kyra Pelachik what makes this year different than 2014, and what participants can look forward to in August.

This will be the second conference of its kind.  Why do you think the first one was so successful?

The young professionals who attended the first one were there for all the right and same reasons—to grow spiritually, meet other young professionals from the Archdiocese, and to have some fun together.
