Earlier today (August 7, 2016) the Archpriest Fr. Boniface Black reposed in the Lord. Father Boniface was the founding pastor of St. Philip Church in Souderton, PA, the Missions Coordinator for the Diocese of Charleston, pastor of St Andrew Church in Lewes, DE, and of the Eastern Shore Mission in Easton, MD.

Please pray for the repose of his soul and for the comfort of his family.

SPECIAL INFORMATION FOR CLERGY

  • All clergy are welcome to attend.
  • His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph will preside over the funeral services. His Eminence has requested that all priests who are participating bring their stoles. If you are a hierarch and planning to attend, please contact the office of the Metropolitan as well as Bishop Thomas’ office. Participating hierarchs are asked to bring their omophorion and stole.
  • If you would like to serve, please RSVP to Fr. Noah Bushelli (nbushelli@gmail.com) by noon on Monday, August 8, for the Tuesday service, and noon on Tuesday for the Wednesday/Thursday services, advising at which services you would like to serve.
  • If you would like to serve at the Liturgy at 9 am on Thursday, please include that information in your RSVP and he will reply to you.
  • All celebrating clergy are asked to bring the black funeral book of the Archdiocese. This book contains the priest’s funeral service, which will be followed verbatim.
  • Clergy from outside the Diocese of Charleston, Oakland, and the Mid-Atlantic should obtain the blessing of their bishop in order to serve.
  • If you will be serving, please arrive at least 30 minutes before the service is scheduled to begin.

Once again, we ask your prayers for our newly-departed brother and concelebrant, Fr. Boniface.
