Memory Eternal! + Nicholas Ramacciato

Nicholas Ramacciato reposed in the Lord on November 4, 2015. Nick and his beloved wife Francis had been married for over 52 years. They have a son, Nicholas Jr., a very successful businessman in Central Florida.

Originally from the Bronx in New York City, Nick and Francis had made Orlando home for the last thirty-five years. They had been in the restaurant business for many years, having owned and operated various Italian restaurants, before retiring to Orlando.

Nick was one of the kindest, most gentle gentleman you could ever meet; at the same time he spoke his mind without any limits. That's how he came to become a part of the St. George family. Almost 25 years ago on a summer afternoon, Nick sparked up a conversation with St. George's pastor, the Very Reverend Fr. John Hamatie. Father John and Nick became friends and some years later Nick and Francis converted to the Holy Orthodox Christian faith. It was a decision that Nick and Fran left to Jesus Christ, since they had been longtime Sicilian Roman Catholics.

Nick spent many years of volunteering during St. George's Fiesta in the Park fall festival, helping in various ways over the years, and generally being a dear friend to all who knew him. It is his beloved voice that the entire community will miss. As a young child he had a gift like none other, one of the most beautiful voices that rivaled the finest in Italian opera singers. When Sayidna Antoun would make his yearly visits to St. George's, Nick would always sing  "You Are My Sunshine" for His Grace, in an opera style!

Nick's funeral services are being held at St. George's at 24 N. Rosalind, Orlando, on Sunday, November 8, at 6 P.M. He truly will be missed as he was one of a kind. Next Sunday, a special luncheon will be held to honor the life of Nick. The beautiful picture included here is of Nick and Francis his wife, joined by Fr. John and Khouriya Monique's daughter Marie Antoinette and her husband Sharif, alongside their two sons Isaac and Jacob. This was one of the last social gatherings for Nick and Francis and our church community. A beautiful wedding anniversary party was held at the rehabilitation center that Nick was at, and was hosted by Mr. Cesar Namour of St. George's Antiochian Orthodox Church in Orlando.

May God rest his soul and may his memory be eternal!
