St. Eustadiola of France
St. Eustadiola was the founder and abbess of the Monastery of Moyen-Montiers, at Bourges, in France, in the seventh century.
She became a widow at a young age, having achieved high rank and great wealth. She gave all her possessions to the poor; made houses in the town into churches in honor of the Theotokos and St. Eugenia; gave her jewels for crosses, candelabra, and chalices for these same churches; and, with the other nuns, embroidered vestments and coverings for the altar fringed with gold.
She built and endowed a large convent which she governed for many years. For over seventy years, she never partake of any meat products.
She peacefully entered into the Heavenly Kingdom at the age of ninety. Many miracles were wrought through her intercessions, both before her death and afterwards.
