St. Digna, Martyr, at Cordoba
St. Digna, along with Sts. Anastasius and Felix were all martyred in Cordoba in 853 while Spain was under the yoke of the Muslims.
St. Anastasius was a deacon at the church of St. Acisclus, but became a monk at the men’s monastery of Tábanos together with St. Felix. The latter was a Berber by origin, born in Alcalá, but he had become a monk in Asturias in northern Spain.
St. Digna was a young nun in the convent of Tábanos.
Made to worship idols, they refused. St. Digna’s last act was reproaching the judge for his cruelty. They were all beheaded.
