Convent of St. Thekla

The Convent of Saint Thekla, the first female monastic community of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, was founded at the Antiochian Village in July of 2009. In 2013, the monastery was relocated to Glenville, Pennsylvania for a brief period of time. Upon prayerful reflection, it was decided that the monastery should be founded anew at the Antiochian Village, the monastery's first home and the place in America most associated with its patroness, Saint Thekla.

Through the intercessions of the Holy Protomartyr Thekla, the monastery will once again be planted and grow to maturity on the "holy mountain" of our God-protected Archdiocese in the near future.
