John Chrysostom, Apolytikion

His Feast Day is November 13th and January 27th.  This is the official version sung by SOYO in conjunction with their initial prayer service.  This may also be sung after his Paschal Homily is read.  "Grace shining forth from thy mouth like a beacon . . . ."

This arrangement of 'It is truly meet' was chanted by the Archangel Gabriel when he first revealed this hymn
near Karyes on the Holy Mountain in the year 982. 'Greater in honor' was composed by St. Ephrem the Syrian (4th c.).
